Dancing Well has returned to in-person dancing! See below to learn more about our dances and about new initiatives that helped us keep our Dancing Well family connected and supported during the pandemic. Also, we hope you’ll join us!

In-person dancing has resumed!

We would love to see you in person! Dancing Well has resumed weekly in-person dancing, and we are now meeting in a large and beautiful indoor space with a sprung wood dance floor. Whether you are a veteran, a family member or loved one, or a potential volunteer, please contact us if you are interested in joining us. You can reach us here.

other ways we’re staying connected

Phone Calls and Visits - People with PTSD often feel disconnected from others, and the need to increase social isolation due to the pandemic was very difficult. We checked in and kept up with our veterans and their loved ones via phone calls, video chat, and distanced in-person visits. We also shared information and resources on staying healthy during the pandemic. These activities are ongoing.

Group Chats and Concerts - We also kept veterans and families connected to one another and to our volunteers, musicians, and dance leader through regular group internet gatherings. There was time to share and also time for music and dancing provided by our regular musicians and dance leader. People were welcome to participate from their own homes to the level they felt comfortable, watching and listening or getting needed exercise. Dances were chosen from Dancing Well’s established programming, providing a sense of continuity during times of sheltering at home. This programming is currently on hold as we are able to meet and dance in person once again.
